The ProtonMail folks have written a very good short article on selecting a VPN service. It also looks like they may develop an option of their own.
Sometimes (for legal, financial, or other reasons) I need to send/receive encrypted email. There are free services for this, but they can be somewhat difficult to use and do not technically provide complete protection. Well, now there is a great (free) alternative that you might want to use. It is from some folks that used to work at CERN banging nuclear particles together. Their product is called ProtonMail.
They have good credentials, having worked at CERN. I believe that their efforts were “crowd-funded,” and the product became available to everyone last week.
